Welcome! You’ve got your fabric and your Stick & Stitch designs. This page is where you’ll find the rest: step-by-step directions for making your Salvaged Samples Fabric Book, downloadable copies of the embroidery designs for future projects, and patterns and ideas for adding even more to your pages.

There’s no one way your book is supposed to look. Use the designs you love, skip the ones you don’t, add your own stitching, play with scraps and embellishments, and let your book take shape as you go.

Make Your Fabric Book

We’ll start by turning the fabric in your kit into a book using a simple no-sew, slot-and-tab binding.

You’ll cut your fabric into eight pages, make four tabbed pieces and four slotted pieces, then join them together to create four signatures. Finally, you’ll connect the signatures to make your book.

Your Stick & Stitch Designs

Your kit includes 15 Stick & Stitch designs that you can peel, place and stitch directly onto your fabric. After you stitch, rinse the template away with warm water. 

Once you’ve used them, you may decide there’s one you’d like to make again. We’ve included printable copies of all 15 designs here so you can use your favorites on future projects. You will need to purchase more stick and stitch. 

Keep Embellishing

Add scraps of fabric, appliqué, hand stitching, patches, buttons, beads, ribbon, bits of lace, words, little pockets, or whatever else you have tucked away.

Make It Yours

The best part of a Salvaged Samples book is that no two should end up alike. There’s no perfect page and no required order. Keep adding, layering, and stitching until it feels like yours.
