Best Overnight Oats—Simple & Satisfying Recipes to Try

Overnight oats are a big thing in our home—our refrigerator always has mason jars full of this grab and go breakfast/snack.

Overnight oats pack a wallop with regard to calorie density and fill you up power. In our house, it's common to find partially consumed jars that someone has taken a scoop out of while grazing-with-the-fridge-door-open. Our 16-year-old son Charlie is the only overnight oat eater who can finish a whole jar in one sitting—Darin could but these magic jars are not his thing.

Typically I line up 6 pint-sized mason jars on my counter and create our overnight oats assembly-line-style. I don't stir or shake the jars once I've dumped everything in—the only step where I'm careful is the with the blackberries—just so I don't turn everything in the jar into purple mash.

My favorite recipe is pretty tame when compared to the others we've collected. I've never been too fond of breakfast—I'm more of a cup of coffee with the newspaper type. The idea of rich nummy peanut butter or decadent chocolate protein powders sounds super tasty for an after-dinner treat—but I would never grab something so rich so early in the day. My milder and breakfast-typical-recipe works well for my time of day food rules.
