January’s perfectly timed Art Kit of the Month is a fun (and useful!) project that’s ideal for starting the new year off on the right foot. This hand-made junk journal and pocket diary/organizer is made from upcycled/recycled book parts that you can re-make into a brand-new book that’s uniquely you!

This kit includes:

  • Clear how-to written instructions
  • A link to my how-to video instructions
  • Pre-cut cover, back, and spine
  • Pre-cut upcycled/recycled mixed media paper
  • Map pages
  • Binding floss
  • Fabric
  • Decorative metal corners
  • Pre-cut monthly tabs
  • Dewey Decimal library cards
  • Bits of ephemera
  • Hole covers
  • Metal key
  • Closing ribbon
  • Waxed paper
  • Downloadable journal prompts and titles

You only need to supply a glue stick, craft knife, self-healing cutting mat, sewing needle, white glue/PVA, Mod Podge, paper cutter or scissors, washi tape, binder clips, and any additional ephemera that you’d like to include. (It’s a longer-than-usual list, but I’m guessing most crafters and artists already have most of these!)
