For many of us, our yoga journeys started with a class at our local fitness club or studio. Although we’re seasoned yogis now, we had no clue what we were doing when we stepped into our first yoga class.

Ask Questions
Having trouble with a pose? Ask the teacher after class. Curious about yoga culture? Ask anotherstudent!
Talk to the Instructor
Tell them you’re new and they’ll help you out with additional cues for poses.
Search for Starter Poses
Research common poses so you aren’t super lost on the first day.
Eat Light
Don’t eat a super heavy meal prior to class.
