Design Highlight: Father’s Day Trio

In honor of Father’s Day this coming Sunday, our Design Highlight(s) of the week are three of our more masculine designs (or at least more gender-neutral designs). One is an oldie-but-a-goodie that we’ve included in our June 2019 collection (Behold the Summit), one is a design from our Compassion Collection that we’ve actually highlighted before (Terry in His Heartland), and the last is absolutely brand-new and just days old (Inhale the Future). Behold the Summit is one of our earliest designs from our original collection of yoga mats that we released more than a year ago. (Hard to believe it’s...

Design Highlight: Wings of Rebirth Dragonfly Yoga Mat

This week’s Design Highlight also serves as an introduction to our brand-new Guest Artist collection! (Currently featuring only one design from one artist, but more collaborations are in the works! :-) Our very first guest artist is Pete Taboada of North Dallas, Texas. Our collaboration was born of serendipity, when his manager approached us at our booth at a bridal expo in St. Paul this past winter and said “You know what would look really great on a yoga mat…” Pete is an amazing artist and an amazing human being. He’s always been an artist, but he didn’t find that...

Design Highlight: Symbols of Remembrance

This week’s Design Highlight is a yoga mat from our permanent collection, the Symbols of Remembrance yoga mat. This design is an abstract representation of the poppy, Papaver somniferum. Since ancient times, the poppy has been associated with sleep, peace and mourning. The watercolor elements of this design, along with the informal white line work together to create a perfect landscape for peace and restfulness. The color palette is both warm and cool, allowing the user to find comfort and connection in ways that serve them best. Our Symbols of Remembrance yoga mat has become a popular basis for memorialization...

Design Highlight: The Earth Laughs in Flowers

This week’s Design Highlight is my very own The Earth Laughs in Flowers yoga mat, whose title was taken from the poem Hamatreya by Ralph Waldo Emerson. The poem itself is…well, it’s a bit dark, being as it is about his Concord, New Hampshire neighbors who boast about their ownership of their beautiful farmland: …Earth laughs in flowers, to see her boastful boys Earth-proud, proud of the earth which is not theirs; Who steer the plough, but cannot steer their feet Clear of the grave… Like I said: dark. Nevertheless, I thought it was a beautiful title for this riotous...

Design Highlight: The Ragnar Collection

Surprise! Today we’re introducing a new temporary collection of yoga and recovery mats designed especially for Ragnar Relay runners! We call it our Ragnar collection — obviously! If you’re not familiar with the Ragnar Relay Series, it’s a nationwide series of long-distance relay events that are roughly 200 miles long and last two days and one night. That’s right — the runners run overnight (which is why one of the events is called “Chase the Moon”). Ragnar relays are comprised of teams of 4–12 runners; teams with 6 or fewer runners are considered “ultra” teams. The 200-mile distance is divided between the runners...
